Transport for Wales has teamed up with Pembrokeshire Voluntary Transport and Pembrokeshire County Council to launch a new service in Northwest Pembrokeshire called fflecsi, designed to help people get out and about by bus.

To use fflecsi you’ll need to book, which is easy. Simply use the app, book online or call on 0300 234 0300 and you will be helped to plan a journey. Journeys must be booked at least 3 hours before you want to travel and up to a month in advance. You can also book a regular journey so it’s always in the system for you.

You can use fflecsi to go to the shops, to get to your appointments, to meet up with friends or go out and about around the coast. Well-behaved dogs also welcome aboard.

fflecsi runs from Monday to Saturday, offering journeys to different destinations like Haverfordwest, Fishguard, Broad Haven and St Davids on various days of the week. For a full list of journey options available from your area, please check the app and the website, or with friendly phone operators by calling 0300 234 0300 who can tell you what services there are. The call centre is open Monday to Saturday from 09.00 – 17.00.

The bus will pick you up as close to home as possible – or where you want to travel from. For each of the trips available, fflecsi can pick up and drop off anywhere along the way to its end destination. When you book, you will be informed where to catch the bus and when it will be arriving. Booking in advance enables you to be guaranteed a seat, while making sure the service keeps within safe social distancing rules. In line with government guidelines, face coverings should be worn when travelling on fflecsi.

Trips cost from £4 for an adult return, to a maximum of £6 return for longer journeys. Children can travel for as little as £1.50 return, and remember concession card holders travel for free. Please check the website for more details.

To download the app go the App Store or Google Play and search for fflecsi.

Following some early feedback, the service has been simplified into three areas. These zones will give you more opportunities to get out and about.

• St Bride Zone
St Brides service zone connects the St Davids peninsula along with the tiny bustling city of St Davids and the spectacular St Bride’s bay coast villages with the busy county town of Haverfordwest.
The St Bride zone offers commuter journeys Monday to Friday with a guaranteed arrival of 0830 in Haverfordwest, and return at home at 1730.

• St Aidan Zone
The zone covers the ancient pilgrimage route followed by St Aidan and is an ideal service to explore the spectacular northern Pembrokeshire coastline, as well as to access shops, services and activities in Fishguard and St Davids.

• Jemima Zone
The Jemima zone is named after a legendary local heroine, Jemima Nicholas. The service covers the area between Fishguard and Haverfordwest. The service allows you explore the Last Invasion tapestry in Fishguard and Scolton Manor Country Park.

Please click below to see the leaflets which show a map of the area covered by each of the zones and which days they are available in those zones.
